Scissors & Scotch
By Peter Levinson
I cannot stand that when a place is labeled “for guys” the immediate thought is, “Oh, it must be a place where girls run around in revealing clothing.” When I first set an appointment with Scissors and Scotch, I will admit I had not done much research and was nervous that it would be that type of environment. What I quickly realized is, “This is a place I want to come back to and my wife is going to be alright with it.”

The feel of the Scissors and Scotch is that of decorum. That old school feeling of good taste and propriety. The owner, Kyle, greeted me as I came in, invited me to take a seat at the bar and introduced me to his establishment – from services to drinks to the lounge. Without going through all that detail, check out their website https://www.scissorsscotch.com/okc/ for pricing, services and such or you can download their app (Iphoneor Android).
Needless to say I had a great experience and received a phenomenal haircut; on a side note I received many unsolicited comments on how great it looked and that is saying a lot since I have been getting roughly the same haircut since I left active duty with the U.S. Marine Corp. My hair cut recipe is as follows:
– 0 on the side
– 3 on top with scissors
– Medium to high good fade
– Little longer in the front so I don’t look like a tennis ball
Simple enough. And both times I have been, each has excelled. Oh, and you will want to leave a little time for after the haircut to relax the lounge and enjoy the complimentary drink that accompanies the service. I went with the Old Fashion on my second trip.
Check it out. You will not be disappointed.
