How to make amazing cold brew coffee at home.
Rainy mornings call for good coffee! If you’re a coffee addict (or have a 6 month old baby with an ear infection) like me, then you will love this cold brew coffee recipe. This recipe is easy and tastes even better than cold brew from your favorite coffee shops. I bet you think I’m exaggerating- but I mean it!
What you need: a french press coffee maker, 1/2 cup of coffee grounds, water, choice of creamer.
Tips : The coffee grounds matter. Have fun trying out different brands and flavors. My current favorite is the “Brazil” blend from Sprouts. I’m sorry if you’re a Folgers lover but I just don’t think the result would be as delicious.
Use filtered water from a water bottle, your fridge, or a Brita filter.
Bonus! To recreate Starbucks “cold foam” put a little heavy cream and a dash of sugar in a container and shake for a few minutes. Pour on top of your coffee and feel like your at your favorite coffee shop.
How to make it:
Step 1: Put 1/2 cup of coffee grounds into french press.
Step 2: Fill to top with cold or room temperature filtered water, leaving room for the lid to go back on.
Step 3: Place on counter or in fridge overnight. I typically prepare this after dinner, the longer it sits the stronger the flavor!
Step 4: In the morning, press french press filter down to push grounds to the bottom.
Step 5: Pour into your favorite cup over ice and enjoy! 🙂 I like to put a little half and half in mine, or heavy whipping cream for a richer taste!
